1. All licensed pilots must pass a written test and checkride with a CFC Instructor in each type of aircraft they will fly. Private pilots with fewer than 200 hours and no instrument rating must be reviewed by a CFC instructor every 60 days and may be asked to take a recurrent checkride.
2. Student pilots are limited to winds of less than 10 knots, with a crosswind component of 8 knots or less. Renter pilots are limited to winds of 15 knots and the maximum crosswind component printed in the Pilot Operating Handbook of the aircraft they are flying. 3. All aircraft are rented by appointment on the online schedule page. If the renter or student fails to make the appointed time within 20 minutes, the airplane will be reassigned. Renters may be charged a "no show" fee if CFC is not notified within 3 hours of a scheduled appointment, except for maintenance or weather. 4. All pilots must perform a complete preflight inspection prior to departure. 5. Pilots must confirm that the flight time sheet and the Hobbs meter in the airplane agree prior to engine start. Any discrepancy must be clarified before flight to avoid financial responsibility for "extra" Hobbs time. 6. Except in emergencies, pilots may land only at public airports with hard-surfaced runways. 7. When fuel or oil is purchased away from CHO, pilots will be reimbursed if they provide receipts showing dollar amounts, date and place of purchase. Items such as tiedown fees, landing fees, cleaning and other fees are the responsibility of the renter pilot. See operating manual for the brand and viscosity of oil required by the aircraft. 8. Overnight renters must maintain the security of the aircraft with hangar or secure tiedowns. 9. All renters must secure the aircraft in an appropriate tiedown space and leave it in a clean condition for the next pilot. Sunscreens and covers, if available, should be used. 10. If the aircraft is abandoned at any place other than CHO, the renter will be charged for pilot and rental time to retrieve the aircraft and return it to CHO. CFC cannot guarantee a renter's travel schedule. Pilots who transfer to another mode of transportation due to weather or maintenance problems do so at their own expense. 11. The renter agrees not to tamper with, molest, or attempt repair on any item or accessory of the aircraft without calling CFC for specific instructions. 12. The renter agrees not to use the airplane:   - for any illegal purpose   - to carry people or property for hire or for any commercial purpose   - for flight instruction 13. All renters must comply at all times with all applicable FAA regulations, state law and the conditions of this agreement. This includes instructing passengers in proper safety procedures and ensuring compliance. 14. Smoking is not permitted in any CFC aircraft or office space. No alcoholic beverages are allowed onboard any CFC aircraft. 15. Renters agree to inform CFC as soon as practical following any accident or incident, major or minor. This includes hard landing. 16. Students and renters are financially responsible for the deductible portion of the insurance policy if damage to the aircraft is due to their negligence. 17. Student/Renter also agrees to pay for any attorney fees associated with collectors. 18. Students must present evidence of U.S. Citizenship to Charlottesville Flight Center staff. See Form below. 19. No refunds on study materials purchased at CFC. 20. There is a return check fee of $25. 21. Any advanced payments on account is subject to a 30% refund fee for early withdrawal of their account. I acknowledge that I have read and understand the contents of this Agreement. I agree to be responsible for all charges incurred, to pay all reasonable collection fees, if any, including court and attorney's costs and to abide by the above rules and any attachments.
